A new Goods Reception Point 'PAM' (Point Accueil Marchandises) has opened to optimise parcel storage and delivery in the Principality
The distribution and collection of parcels for private customers and goods for businesses, already a substantial service handling up to 5,700 parcels per day, 30 delivery rounds and 4,200 delivery points, is steadily growing. Therefore, optimising the system to avoid increased traffic congestion in the Principality is crucial.
With the support of the Prince's Government, Monaco Post Office has just opened the Goods Reception Point 'PAM' (Point Accueil Marchandises) on the Boulevard du Jardin Exotique: a logistics centre of around 1,500 m² designed to receive parcels at the entrance to the city and to handle deliveries from other express transport operators, making future delivery rounds more efficient and reducing the number of intra-city journeys made by commercial vehicles.
Providing additional support to Monaco Post Office's future sorting centre at the Ilot Pasteur site, the PAM centre can process up to 2,500 parcels per day (more during extended operating hours), largely thanks to 14 delivery drivers and their electric vehicles.
The new centre is also equipped with a 24/7 left-luggage facility and a reception desk where customers can drop off and collect parcels at the pick-up point 5 days a week, from 9am to 7pm, and on Saturdays from 9am to 12pm.
In addition, delivery points specifically for PAM services are being provided to optimise delivery services and reduce traffic in the Principality.
