4th Meeting of Historical Sites of the Grimaldis of Monaco - 10 and 11 June, Place du Palais Princier

The 4^th Meeting of the Historical Sites of the Grimaldis of Monaco will be held on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 June, on Place du Palais Princier.

Six departments will be in the spotlight, with 11 communes:

-          Haut-Rhin with the communes of Issenheim, Altkirch, Thann, Ferrette and Feldbach;

-          Lot-et-Garonne with Duras;

-          Deux-Sèvres with Parthenay;

-          Pyrénées-Orientales with Prats-de-Mollo;

-          Alpes-Maritimes with Grasse and Saint-Honorat de Lérins;

-          Haute-Corse with Lucciana.

The event will be held in an atmosphere of friendship and sharing. Several events will be on offer for children and adults: tasting of culinary specialities, folk dancing, discovery of artists and typical trades, jousting and other equestrian spectacles, and displays of birds of prey in flight.

Each site invited to the event will highlight its historic links with the Principality, and give an introduction to its region and its cultural heritage.

On Saturday evening at 10 p.m., there will be a “Sound and Light” show projected on to the façades of the Prince’s Palace, which will recount the history of the Grimaldi dynasty through its links with the ancient “fiefdoms” on the Rocher.

11:00                   Speech by H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince and award of trophies to invited mayors

11:55                   Grand changing of the guard

12:20                   Presentation of events and performances by each site in turn

20:40                   Grand concert by the Palace Guards Orchestra and the Altkirch Cavalry Hussars Brass Band

22:15                   Sound and Light show projected onto the façades of the Prince’s Palace

09:00                   Site village opens

11:50                   Changing of the Guard

12:15                   Presentation of performances by each site in turn

19:00                   Farandole by all participants

19:30                   Closure of village
