29th European Heritage Days – Monaco – 14 and 15 September 2024
The theme selected for the 29th European Heritage Days is ROUTES, NETWORKS AND CONNECTIONS.
A renowned port in ancient times and a mecca for Belle Époque holidaymakers with the arrival of the railway, the Principality of Monaco has been a hub of cultural connection throughout its history.
Visitors are invited to explore the Principality’s architectural, artistic and religious heritage to rediscover the remnants and stories of its past that have shaped the region and make it unique.
During the two-day event, cultural, professional and non-profit sites open their doors for visitors to discover the richness and diversity of Monegasque heritage.
The Principality began hosting European Heritage Days in 1996. Initiated jointly by the Council of Europe and the European Union, the event is now celebrated in over 50 European countries and welcomes nearly 30 million visitors each year. European Heritage Days have been coordinated by the Institute of Heritage since 2018 under the aegis of the Department of Cultural Affairs.
