e-HealthWorld Monaco, the e-health, research and innovation event held under the high patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II, opened on Thursday 31 May in the Principality. The aim of the conference, which will run until 1 June at the Fairmont Hotel, is to give an overview of new technologies in the field of health in order to offer patients better prevention, diagnosis and treatment.

e-HealthWorld Monaco is aimed primarily at health professionals, but is also open to anyone interested in the application of new technologies in the health sector, from robotics to artificial intelligence, connected objects, blockchains, chatbots and telemedicine.

In his opening address to the 4th e-HealthWorld Monaco conference, Minister of Health and Social Affairs Didier Gamerdinger stressed the importance of the event as a place for discussion and sharing knowledge and practices, always ethically and for the benefit of patients. “The world of medicine continues to change and the contribution that digital is making to care is significant – impacting everything from streamlined appointment scheduling to assistance with diagnosis, from networking for medical teams to storage and accessibility of patient records. This extremely promising new approach raises some difficult basic questions, however, around data security and ethical rules, for example.” In conclusion, he noted that the Prince’s Government intended to make this one of its priorities over the coming years.
