World First Aid Day - “You don’t need a permit to save lives!” - 8 September 2018 at the Fontvieille Big Top
The Monaco Red Cross has decided to celebrate World First Aid Day by organising an “open doors” day from 10 am to 6 pm on 8 September at the Fontvieille Big Top, in collaboration with the Prince’s Government, Princess Grace Hospital, the Road Safety Association and private organisations.
The Prince’s Government is keen to encourage and facilitate this initiative, which is fully in line with its policy on preventing risks, whether natural, technological or societal.
The day is aimed at everyone, adults and children alike, and hopes to raise public awareness and familiarise visitors with basic first aid procedures and behaviours to adopt. The theme for the day is First Aid and Road Safety.
A variety of themed areas and activities, both inside and outside the Big Top, will be led by trainers and volunteers from the Monaco Red Cross, the Fire and Emergency Service, the Palace Guards, the Police Department, the Department of Education, Youth and Sport and Princess Grace Hospital. The areas will include spaces devoted to:
- introductory first aid
- road safety
- workshops for children (colouring, educational games, kart track)
- cycling course
- demonstration of emergency vehicle extrication and clearance
- ambulance visit
The day will provide an opportunity for the Monaco Red Cross to highlight its missions and its activities, to promote its first aid section, and to offer the public training which could save lives.
Come and join in!
