H.S.H. Prince Albert II this morning officially opened the new premises for Donation House and the Anatomical Pathology Department in the Belvédère Building at Princess Grace Hospital. The opening was attended by Ministers Céline Caron-Dagioni and Christophe Robino, and Director of Princess Grace Hospital Benoîte Rousseau de Sevelinges.

The new building, on which construction began in 2023, enables the first temporary relocation

as part of the broader New Princess Grace Hospital project to be carried out.

The Sovereign Prince then visited Donation House, a dedicated space for blood donors in the Principality, emphasising the importance of this altruistic act that is vital to saving human lives. The new opportunities offered by the location include the plasma production.

Finally, H.S.H. Prince Albert II toured the new Anatomical Pathology Department, which is critical to the diagnosis of numerous infectious, inflammatory and cancerous diseases. As part of this development, the highly anticipated molecular biology services will be rolled out. These will enable genes specific to the diagnosis of many cancers to be sequenced within hours, as well as the introduction of personalised treatments that will benefit residents of the Principality.
