The discussions, chaired by Ms Elvire Aronica, Deputy Delegate for European and International Affairs of the French Ministry of Health, and Mr Didier Gamerdinger, Minister of Health and Social Affairs, focused on shared medical records.

Shared medical records, which will soon be implemented, are veritable digital health files for patients in the Principality. They will contain all medical procedures performed in Monaco that result in a report, and any other medical documents, unless patients explicitly refuse to give their consent.

Patients and authorised health professionals will be able to consult the records at any time.

Didier Gamerdinger pointed out that "the shared medical records that will be implemented in the Principality of Monaco must be interoperable with foreign healthcare systems, and more particularly with the French system, so to be fully comprehensive and at the service of the patient."

At the end of the meeting, it was agreed that joint work would continue on the introduction of shared medical records across borders, through thematic Franco-Monegasque working groups.
