Director of Princess Grace Hospital delivers New Year address to staff
In the presence of H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince, and flanked by His Excellency the Minister of State and Minister of Health and Social Affairs Mr Didier Gamerdinger, Ms Benoîte de Sevelinges, Director of Princess Grace Hospital (CHPG), delivered her New Year address to all hospital staff today. In front of the numerous personalities who had gathered for the occasion, the director gave a full overview of the hospital’s activities in 2018:*
- The majority of medical departments experienced occupancy rates above 90%;
- More than 80,000 patients attended Princess Grace Hospital for treatment at least once, and nearly 200 opted to undergo a check-up at the hospital;
- 99.8% of patients felt that their care was good, very good or even excellent.
Addressing social policy, Benoîte de Sevelinges welcomed the generosity of the Prince’s Government in creating a supplementary pension scheme and implementing a salary increase, both of which are now in place.
In terms of projects, 2018 was a springboard for 2019 with, among other things, the signature of the National Energy Transition Pact on 18 April. On the construction side, the first event of 2019 will be the opening of the Blood Transfusion Centre and the new Laboratory Test Centre. Before summer, the imaging department is set to gain a brand new interventional radiology room which will enable Princess Grace Hospital to develop new treatment techniques that will benefit patients. Finally, the year is expected to end with the opening of the new Louis II Pavilion consultation centre, which will bring together the digestive surgery, hepato-gastroenterology and urology departments in a much better environment for patients and staff alike.
2019 will also be the year of digital as the first elements of the new Computerised Patient File System are introduced. This is part of an overall reform of the IT system under a project known as e-CHPG.
Benoîte de Sevelinges concluded her speech with a tribute to her predecessor Mr Patrick Bini, who had “ left a hospital built on solid foundations, enabling it to move forward into an era of modernisation, even before the much anticipated opening of the new building.”
