First-year students of the Institute of Nurse Training started their new term this Wednesday, 6 September, in the presence of Didier Gamerdinger, Minister of Health and Social Affairs, Patrick Bini, Director of the Princess Grace Hospital and Monique Le Du, Director of the IFSI.

Following a welcoming speech by the Director of the IFSI, the Minister warmly congratulated the students on being among the successful applicants in the admission competition.  There were 9,060 candidates this year from the PACA region for 2,963 places, of which 30 were at the CHPG's IFSI.

Of note was the outstanding performance by the leading candidate for the IFSI Monaco, who was ranked 5th in the PACA region, as well as two who were ranked 18th and 19th.  In addition, the 30 successful applicants included a student of Monegasque nationality, as well as two others who are resident in the Principality.

Didier Gamerdinger recalled the priority given to this IFSI training by the Prince's Government.  He also stressed the importance of technical skills, and, above all, the altruistic attitude required for a career as a nurse.

He concluded his speech with the hope that the students would flourish in their role as nurses and caregivers, who work in the service of others on a daily basis, stating that "the level of requirement at the IFSI includes both professional and personal skills."
