Traffic arrangements in the Principality during the Blue Economy and Finance Forum and the State Visit of the President of the French Republic

The Blue Economy and Finance Forum is being held at the Grimaldi Forum on Saturday 7, and Sunday 8 June. The President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, will also be making a state visit to the Principality of Monaco during this same weekend. Restrictions on vehicle, bus and pedestrian traffic are to be expected for the duration of these events.

VEHICLE TRAFFIC

Saturday 7 June, between 6am and 8pm and Sunday 8 June, between 6am and 5pm.

Avenue Princesse Grace will be closed to traffic in both directions between the Portier roundabout and the Rose des Vents roundabout (access remains in place - via Rose des Vents only - for residents along ‘Ruelle St Jean’ and at ‘Emilie Palace’, ‘La Réserve’, ‘Houston Palace’ and ‘Columbia Palace’).

Depending on the delegation’s journeys, there may be regular traffic disruptions within these same periods on different routes in all affected areas, particularly between Monaco-Ville, Monte-Carlo, and Larvotto.

Traffic congestion is expected when accessing the Principality from the motorway tunnel and the Moyenne Corniche towards the western entrance of the Principality.

On Sunday 8 June, from 12.30pm to 4pm, Boulevard Louis II will be closed to all traffic (including pedestrians) between the Portier roundabout and the Pattaya turning point.

Access to the Louis II car park and the “Monte-Carlo Star” will be prohibited during these closure periods.

The police might make changes to these arrangements.

PEDESTRIAN TRAFFIC

The lower section of Avenue Princesse Grace will be closed to pedestrians (except for authorised persons), who will be directed to the upper pavement or Mareterra.

Access to Boulevard Louis II will be prohibited on Sunday from 12.30pm to 4pm.

BUS TRAFFIC

Due to the special security measures put in place by the police, the following changes will be made to bus routes:

Princess Grace Avenue will be closed to traffic in both directions between the Portier roundabout and the Rose des Vents roundabout: 

  • On Saturday 7 June, from 6am to 8pm: buses will be diverted until the end of the day's service.
  • On Sunday 8 June, from 6am to 5pm: buses will be diverted until the end of the day's service.

Access to Monaco-Ville may be disrupted on Saturday 7 June from 4pm to 9pm.

Boulevard Louis II will be closed on Sunday 8 June, from 12.30pm to 4pm. Line 1 will be diverted from Boulevard Albert 1 towards Avenue d'Ostende.

Lines 1, 2, 3, 4

Outward journey: normal route.

Return journey: normal route.

Line 5: ‘Grand Prix’ type diversion.

Outward journey: HOPITAL: normal route to the Monte-Carlo Tourisme stop – Boulevard des Moulins and the last stop is Place des Moulins.

Return journey: PLACE DES MOULINS – Boulevard des Moulins – Madone roundabout – Avenue de la Madone –PLACE DU CASINO stop, then follows the normal route to HOPITAL.

Line 6: diversion towards Saint Roman.

Outward journey: normal route to the Monte-Carlo Tourisme stop – Boulevard des Moulins, Boulevard d'Italie and the last stop is Saint-Roman.

Return journey: Saint-Roman – Boulevard d'Italie, Boulevard des Moulins – Madone roundabout – Avenue de la Madone – Place du Casino stop, then follows the normal route to Fontvieille.

Line - bus boat

This service will be interrupted during both days, resuming on Monday 9 June 2025.
