In the presence of Patrice Cellario, Minister of Interior, Colonel Tony Varo, Chief of Monaco Fire and Emergency Service and Vice-Admiral Charles Henri Garié, Commander of the Marseille Naval Fire Battalion (Bataillon des Marins-Pompiers de Marseille) (BMPM), signed a partnership agreement yesterday, Tuesday 20 March, at the Headquarters of the BMPM.

This agreement formalises cooperation and liaison between Monaco Fire and Emergency Service and the Marseille Naval Fire Battalion in the areas of training, participation in operations and professional liaison.  The principle of reciprocity will make it possible to share experience and know-how extensively between the two emergency response entities.

The Monegasque delegation also had the opportunity to visit the Operational Centre of the Marseille Fire and Rescue Service (COSSIM);  the delegation was then received at the City Hall by the Mayor of Marseille, Jean-Claude Gaudin.
