A security exercise, known as “Alpha Tango” and based on a hostage-taking scenario, took place on Monday 3 April from 7 pm to midnight at the Rainier III Auditorium.

The Police Department, Fire and Emergency Service, Public Prosecution Department, Princess Grace Hospital, Monaco Red Cross, Institute of Nurse Training, Palace Guards and various government departments were all mobilised as part of the exercise, with nearly 440 people taking part. Teams from the Prefecture of the Alpes-Maritimes region also participated in the exercise, as part of established security cooperation.

Given the international context and emergence of new risks, the main objective was to test the response of the police, emergency services and Public Prosecution Department, as well as coordination between these entities and with the teams from France.
