Public Car Parks - More than 91% of Users are Satisfied

To better understand the views, needs and expectations of its clients, the Public Car Parks Office carried out a satisfaction survey in late 2016.  A 31-point questionnaire was sent to a sample of subscribers, and Eric Sciamanna, the Office's Head, is pleased with the results - "More than 2,000 people replied to the questionnaire and the results, which are very satisfying, are almost identical to those obtained during our 2010/2011 campaign."

The questionnaire addressed four main themes:

  • infrastructure and its operation:  safety, cleanliness and ambiance
  • quality of service, particularly with regard to staff, materials and welcome
  • the parking offer with the associated parking rates, types of subscription and self-service
  • the profile of subscribers, in order to offer a customized service by assessing their changing needs.

The results show a general improvement in satisfaction with the Office's main objectives, namely security (96.7%) and competence (89%), as well as signage and ambiance (respectively more than 89 and 80 satisfaction points).  Courtesy and cleanliness still show very high levels of satisfaction (91.9 and 94.4 satisfaction points).

As a reminder, the Public Car Parks Office, which is attached to the Ministry of Public Works, the Environment and Urban Development, was created in 1998.   It was the first of the Monegasque State departments to obtain dual ISO 9001 and 14001 certification.  It manages 45 public car parks and has more than 17,000 subscribers, who are residents or workers.  Taking holders of the renowned Multiparc card into account, there are more than 45,000 holders of a "Monaco Parkings" card.

In addition to parking, Monaco Parkings is aware of its role when faced with the challenges of urban traffic and sustainable development.  It has therefore been very involved in car sharing and offers a "Parking – free bus" service for residential customers, as well as discounts for those who use their vehicle infrequently.

"Quality of life is a priority for the Government and I am delighted with the results of the satisfaction survey conducted among "Monaco Parkings" subscribers, stated Marie-Pierre Gramaglia, Minister of Public Works, the Environment and Urban Development.  She added, "In the collective approach to the sustainable development of our country, issues related to mobility are becoming more and more important.  Public car parks, which aim is to offer a comprehensive service for residents and those who come to work in or visit the Principality, are at the heart of this scheme."
