Having previously offered valuable and direct assistance to people living in the valleys tragically hit by the storm on 2 October 2020, the Prince’s Government is now providing aid for the reconstruction of heritage and infrastructure in the communes affected by Storm Alex.

In the presence of H.S.H. Prince Albert II and a number of Monegasque and French dignitaries, Mr Pierre Dartout, the Minister of State, and Mr Guillaume Poitrinal, President of the Heritage Foundation, today signed an agreement that, in accordance with the Sovereign Prince’s wishes, mobilises a budget of one million euros specifically for rebuilding work in the Roya, Vésubie and Tinée valleys.

With valuable support from the Heritage Foundation, this donation will help to renovate or rebuild infrastructure that is cherished by or essential to the communes and populations living in the valleys so heavily impacted a year ago today.

The Heritage Foundation will be responsible for implementing and completing projects, and for supporting project leaders in association with the monitoring committee, which will be set up in accordance with the agreement signed.

The Heritage Foundation currently has more than 2,750 projects open for donations.
