Working visit by IOF delegation
On 30 and 31 October 2019, the Principality of Monaco will host the 36th Ministerial Conference of La Francophonie, for which the theme will be: “Reconciling Humanity and the Planet: Prospects within the French-Speaking World as the IOF Turns 50”.
In this context, a high-level delegation from the International Organisation of La Francophonie (IOF) visited Monaco on 7 and 8 May to discuss all of the protocol and logistical aspects of holding this event, which will be attended by a number of ministers and nearly 450 delegates.
During the visit, Vanessa Lamothe-Matignon, Special Advisor to the IOF Secretary-General for Forums and Partnerships, met Gilles Tonelli, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, and H.E. Mr Christophe Steiner, Ambassador and Monaco’s Personal Representative to the IOF, on 7 May.
Mr Tonelli confirmed to Ms Lamothe-Matignon that all departments within the Prince’s Government would be mobilised to ensure the success of the event. He also noted that every effort would be made to minimise the Ministerial Conference’s carbon footprint.
The IOF’s working visit illustrated the strong partnership between the organisation and the Prince’s Government.
