Opening of Diplomatic Relations with Ghana and North Macedonia
On 26 September, as a side event of the general debate of the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Gilles Tonelli, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Principality of Monaco, signed a joint communiqué with Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration of Ghana, to open diplomatic relations.
The Republic of Ghana, a democratic State with institutional stability and an important place in the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), has become the 147th country with which the Principality of Monaco has established diplomatic relations.
At this event, Gilles Tonelli also met Nikola Dimitrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of North Macedonia, in order to sign a joint communiqué opening diplomatic relations between the two countries.
