Diplomacy: accreditation of new ambassadors from Algeria – Namibia – Korea – Burundi

On Thursday 21 October, at a lunch held at the Hotel Hermitage, Laurent Anselmi, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, received H.E. Mr Mohamed Antar Daoud, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria; H.E. Mr Albertus Aochamub, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Namibia; H.E. Mr Dae-jong Yoo, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea; and H.E. Mr Ernest Niyokindi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Burundi.

The diplomats presented their credentials to H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince during the morning.

H.E. Mr Mohamed Antar Daoud began his career as a journalist on Algerian television before joining the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1980 as Deputy Director for Press and Information. His diplomatic career then took him to various embassies on several continents, including Washington, D.C., Nouakchott, Rabat and Lille. He was Chief of Staff to the Head of Government from 2004 to 2010, and has also served as Algeria’s Ambassador to Mali, Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

H.E. Mr Albertus Aochamub spent the majority of his career in the telecommunications, banking and television industries before being appointed Press Secretary to the President in 2015. He has served as Namibia’s Ambassador to France since 2018 and is also a member of the UNESCO Executive Board.

H.E. Mr Dae-jong Yoo joined the Republic of Korea’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1988 and has held a number of posts in several departments. He served as Director for Human Resources (2003–2004) and for the United Nations (2007–2008) before being appointed Minister Counsellor at the Republic of Korea’s Permanent Representation to International Organisations in Vienna, then Director-General for International Organisations. Named as Ambassador to Serbia in 2016, he also recently served as Deputy Minister for Planning and Coordination at the Republic of Korea’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

H.E. Mr Ernest Niyokindi, who holds a bachelor’s degree in African Languages and Literature, was a teacher before embarking on his career as a diplomat. He served as First Counsellor then Chargé d’Affaires at Burundi’s Embassy in Tanzania, and was then posted to the country’s Embassy in Russia. He has been Burundi’s Ambassador to France since 2019.
