MASC – Museum Art Summer Club Summer Visits and Workshops for Young People Aged 7-12
From 4 to 15 July, the NMNM is offering a new format for its summer workshops – every day, there will be a different workshop from 2 p.m. to 4.30 p.m., and two-day workshops every Thursday and Friday at the Villa Paloma and then at the Villa Sauber.
Bookings are therefore open for 1, 2 or 3 “à la carte” workshops per child.

From 4 to 8 July
Monday
Scented Flower Hunt – A Visit to the Garden.
Along the new pathway in the garden of the Villa Paloma, children can discover various species and scented flowers via a games trail in which they have to find plants corresponding to scents – a fun opportunity to deepen their knowledge of the natural world and explore the sense of smell.
Tuesday
Art, English ‘n Architecture! – Works in the Garden
Based on the work by Jean-Pascal Flavien, Folding House (to be continued), which is ondisplay in the garden. Children will create a sculptural house in cardboard, experimenting with different model-making techniques – drawing, cutting out and collage.
This visit /workshop will take place in English.
Wednesday
Draw Me! – Visit the Duane Hanson Exhibition
After visiting the Duane Hanson exhibition at the Villa Paloma, children will have an introduction to a variety of portrait techniques. The workshop is based on experimental drawing and related materials – pencil, charcoal, pastels, bic pens and felt tip pens.
Thursday & Friday (Two-day workshop)
Let’s Build!
Inspired by the works by Thomas Demand that are on display on the third floor of the Villa Paloma, children will create a three-dimensional work based on a photographic image, taking inspiration from the way the artist works.

From 11 to 15 July
Monday
Posters
Based on the cinema posters displayed in the Francesco Vezzoli exhibition, children will create a poster in which they are the hero. This workshop explores graphic art methods in cinematic communication.
Tuesday
Let’s Build - Art + Design!
Jeppe Hein’s works Modified Social Benches, which are on show in the garden of the Villa Sauber, are at the crossroads of art and design. Here, children will experiment with sketching and construction. An introduction to the concept of the functional and sculptural object.
Wednesday
Portraits
Taking inspiration from the work Marlene Dietrich with Hat and Black Dress (After Francesco Vezzoli), children will paint a portrait in the style of Amadeo Modigliani.
Thursday & Friday (Two-Day Workshop)
Museums & Architecture
In this workshop, children will learn about the architecture of the Villa Sauber and the various architectural styles of museums around the world. The architecture of the future is explored through drawing, collage and various materials.
