On Sunday 18 March at 8.58 p.m., as part of its programme "D’Art d’Art," France 2 will broadcast an item on the famous equestrian statue of Louis XIV in the Place des Victoires in Paris, a work by the Monegasque sculptor François-Joseph Bosio, for which he was given the title of "First Sculptor to the King."

The Prince's Government wished to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the birth of this artist and make the importance of his work more widely known.  Bosio, who was supported and encouraged by the patronage of Prince Honoré III, had a brilliant career in the French capital.  He continues to surprise us with the variety and richness of his work.

As a reminder, "D'art d'art" is a television programme that is devoted to the visual arts.  It is presented by Frédéric Taddeï and has been broadcast on France 2 since 2002.  Each programme tells the story of a work of art in 1 minute 15 seconds.

A new episode on another major work by Bosio will be broadcast in 2018.
