The Stamp Issuing Office and Museum of Prehistoric Anthropology introduce the new 2025 EUROPA stamp
The new EUROPA stamp was officially launched on Friday 9 May at the Museum of Prehistoric Anthropology in the presence of Ms Lara Terlizzi-Enza, Director of the Stamp Issuing Office (OETP), and Ms Elena Rossoni-Notter, Director of the Museum.
The theme of the 2025 PostEurop stamp is national archaeological discoveries. The stamp was created in close collaboration with the Museum of Prehistoric Anthropology. The OETP has chosen to highlight the Observatory Cave, an emblematic site whose occupation spans approximately 200,000 years, and to underscore the archaeological discoveries made in Monaco.
Designed and engraved by artist André Lavergne, the stamp was copperplate printed in six colours. Its face value is €2.10, the price of an international letter weighing less than 20 grams. Forty thousand stamps were printed.
Available at the Stamp Office, the Museum of Philately and Coinage, and Monaco’s post offices, the stamp is the newest example of a longstanding tradition of EUROPA issues, launched in 1956 with some sixty countries taking part and a different theme every year. Highly sought after by collectors, these stamps are among the most popular in the world.
