As part of the new organisation at the Ministry of State, H.E. Mr Pierre Dartout proposed to H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince that Mr Marc Vassallo be appointed to succeed Mr Robert Colle as Secretary-General of the Government from Monday 7 February 2022.

The Minister of State took this opportunity to pay tribute to Mr Robert Colle for his work in service of the Monegasque Administration and his involvement in government action over many years. He offered him his best wishes for a well-deserved retirement.

The appointment of Mr Marc Vassallo follows on the heels of Ms Laurence Garino’s appointment as Chief of Staff to the Minister of State in September, and highlights H.E. Mr Pierre Dartout’s desire to strengthen the team that works alongside him every day to carry out the remit entrusted to him by the Sovereign Prince, in particular ensuring the effective cooperation between ministries that is essential to the proper execution of government policy.

Marc Vassallo completed graduate studies in economic and political sciences at the Nice Sophia-Antipolis Faculty of Law. He has gained vast experience of the public service  since entering the civil service in 2003 and has worked within the General Secretariat since January 2007. He was appointed Deputy Secretary-General on 1 January 2015.
