Companies visit by the Minister of State

Mardi 19 février 2013, S.E. M. le Ministre d’État a visité les locaux de M.C. Company, entreprise spécialisée dans la création et la vente de maillots de bain sous les marques « Banana Moon » et « Livia».Il était accompagné de Jean Castellini, Conseiller de Gouvernement pour les Finances et l’Économie, et de Paul Masseron, Conseiller de Gouvernement pour l’Intérieur. Présidée par Daniel Flachaire, M.C. Company est une entreprise familiale, qui emploie une centaine de salariés (groupe). Elle est implantée, à Fontvieille, sur 2 700 m² de locaux industriels.Toute la production est maîtrisée depuis le site monégasque : design et bureau de stylisme,conception des motifs des tissus et des modèles, sérigraphie, coupe et montage, jusqu’à la phase d’industrialisation. Aujourd’hui, M.C. Company possède des clients répartis dans le monde entier. Ce sont des distributeurs indépendants spécialisés, des franchises ou encore des chaînes de grands magasins comme les « Galerie Lafayette » ou « Le Printemps » en France, « El Corte Ingles » en Espagne et "Ludwig Beck" en Allemagne. Le Ministre d’Etat poursuit ainsi sa série de rendez-vous avec les acteurs industriels de la Principauté entamée il y a plusieurs mois dans le cadre d’une démarche visant à valoriser les filières d’activité et les compétences existantes dans le bassin d’emploi monégasque et susciter l’installation de nouveaux investisseurs et de nouvelles activités en Principauté.

Vignette_Monachem - Jeudi 17 janvier 2013, S.E. M. le Ministre d’État a visité les locaux de Monachem, entreprise de production de principes actifs pharmaceutiques située rue du Gabian. Il était accompagné de Jean Castellini, Conseiller de Gouvernement pour les Finances et l’Économie et de Serge Pierreyves, Directeur de l’Expansion Économique. Implantée en Principauté depuis 1973, Monachem, qui emploie 32 collaborateurs, est dirigée par le Docteur Philippe Dellis et fait aujourd’hui partie du groupe israélien TEVA, leader mondial du médicament générique. Le Ministre d’Etat poursuit ainsi sa série de rendez-vous avec les acteurs industriels de la Principauté entamée il y a plusieurs mois dans le cadre d’une démarche visant à valoriser les filières d’activité et les compétences existantes dans le bassin d’emploi monégasque et susciter l’installation de nouveaux investisseurs et de nouvelles activités en Principauté.

Bettina SAM Vignette - Yesterday, the Minister of State, Michel Roger, visited Bettina, a company which was founded in 1954 and specialises in the very precise skill of combining material and knitted fabric. Bettina is the world leader in this art. The Minister of State was welcomed to Bettina by their Managing Director, Philippe Prud’homme. Bettina’s skill is based on high quality workmanship provided by an almost exclusively female workforce. The company, which has fundamentally family origins, trains their staff themselves in order to satisfy the standards required in the business sector (three to four years of training). Bettina also has a stock of more than thirty digitally controlled machines used for manufacturing knitted panels made of threads of silk or cashmere, as well as a computerised research department and a design-drawing workshop for the collections. Four years ago, the company had a staff of 85 and now employs almost 110 people. Over the same time period, the turnover increased from €4 million to almost €9 million. A few months ago, the Minister of State proceeded with a series of meetings with industrial players in the Principality within the context of an effort which aimed to promote the different existing sectors of activity and skill in the Monegasque job market. This effort also aimed to attract new investors and new activities to the Principality.

Visit Borgwarner - 22 February 2012 - The Minister of State, Michel Roger, visited BORGWARNER Monaco, where he was welcomed by Philippe Willmann, the Manager of the factory, and Isabelle Monnot, the Manager of Production and of the entire management team in the Group’s Monaco location. BORGWARNER Monaco has a very specific area of expertise within the group, its skill in the field of the design and production of high pressure solenoid valves, almost all of which are sold to two clients, MAGNETTI MARELLI (FIAT Group) and DELPHI.With a turnover of almost €60 million, BORGWARNER Monaco employs 270 people in the Principality (4500m² over five levels in the “Albu” building).

Vignette ASEPTA - 14 November 2011 - World leader in the dermo-cosmetics industry, the ASEPTA laboratories received a visit from the Minister of State, Michel Roger, last Thursday. The Minister of State, for several weeks, has been stepping up the attention of the Prince's Government on industrial companies in the Principality, and has been to visit many of them. An old family company (founded in 1943) which is very firmly settled in the Principality, ASEPTA is one of the crown jewels of Monaco’s pharmacy-cosmetology industry, and is a centre of industrial excellence with 24 companies and more than 800 employees.

For more than 50 years, SILVATRIM has developed expertise and skill in the manufacturing of car parts and building siding.SILVATRIM’s clientele is composed of top of the range automobile companies, with DAIMLER, BMW, LAND ROVER, etc being important clients.

Vignette-SBM-13 sept 2011 - The Prince's Government is proceeding with its effort towards companies which are located in the Principality: this is an initiative of Michel Roger, the Minister of State, as he wished to meet leaders of industrial companies that are located in Monaco. This process is part of H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince’s desire to reinforce the attractiveness of Monaco as a place where companies can develop skills and centres of excellence. The idea behind this is also that leaders of companies are the people who are best informed concerning what it is like to exercise an economic activity in an area. It was SINGLE BUOY MOORINGS, a world leader in the field of industrial oil and gas engineering, and one of the main private employers in the Principality with more than 1,200 employees, that led Michel Roger to choose to initiate a series of meetings with industrial players in the Principality.
