The 81st Formula One Monaco Grand Prix: the Department of Maritime Affairs is raising awareness among maritime users
The Department of Maritime Affairs (DAM) is taking preventive measures to ensure safe navigation and to protect the marine environment during the Formula 1 Grand Prix, which will be exceptionally busy on this stretch of water.
A flyer produced by the DAM is distributed every year ahead of two major events in the Principality: the Grand Prix in May and the Monaco Yacht Show in September.
This flyer is distributed to both local yachtsmen and to those aboard pleasure craft anchored in Monegasque waters to increase awareness of Monegasque maritime regulations.
Thanks to the support of the Société d'Exploitation des Ports de Monaco and the Marine and Airport Police Division, the flyer is also distributed electronically.
In addition to raising awareness, the DAM will be patrolling the water throughout the GP to enforce speed limits, monitor zones where sailing and anchoring are prohibited, regulate traffic in the two ports and check taxi-boat permits.
