Tour de France 2024: what traffic arrangements will be in place for the Monaco-Nice stage?

The 21st and final stage of the 111th Tour de France, an individual time trial from Boulevard Albert I to Place Masséna in Nice, takes place this Sunday, 21 July.  This major event calls for the following arrangements:

 

VEHICLE TRAFFIC

 

From 10am to 8pm, roads will be closed to motorists on the following routes:

  • Boulevard Albert I*
  • Quai des États-Unis - between the restricted-access quay area and the junction with Route de la Piscine*
  • Route de la Piscine*
  • Darse Sud
  • Quai Antoine Ier
  • Allée des Boulingrins, in the uphill direction
  • Place du Casino
  • Avenue des Citronniers, up to the entrance to the Métropole car park
  • Boulevard Princesse Charlotte, between the roundabout at Boulevard des Moulins and number 29 (in this direction)
  • Allée Emmanuel Gonzales
  • Avenue Princesse Grace
  • Rue des Iris
  • Ruelle Saint-Jean
  • Avenue J.F. Kennedy
  • Boulevard Louis II
  • Avenue de la Madone, between the junction with Avenue des Spélugues and Avenue de Grande-Bretagne
  • Avenue Saint-Michel, from the junction with Avenue Princesse Charlotte, towards Boulevard des Moulins
  • Avenue de Monte-Carlo
  • Boulevard des Moulins, between the roundabout near number 4 and the start of Avenue de la Costa
  • The Portier slip road, between the Larvotto tunnel and the Portier roundabout
  • Rue du Portier
  • Rue des Princes
  • Avenue des Spélugues
  • The Sardanapale slip road

 

* From 6pm on 20 July to 10am on 21 July:

  • The upstream lane of Boulevard Albert Ier will be reserved for road users.
  • A one-way traffic lane will be introduced along Route de la Piscine, from the junction with Quai Antoine I up to Quai des États-Unis, and along Quai des États-Unis, between the junctions with Route de la Piscine and Avenue J.F. Kennedy.

 

The one-way system will also be switched:

  • Allée Ouest des Boulingrins (downhill), from Place du Casino to Boulevard des Moulins
  • Rue Princesse Florestine, between Rue Suffren Reymond and Rue Grimaldi
  • Avenue Saint-Michel, between Boulevard des Moulins and Rue des Iris
  • Rue Suffren Reymond, between Rue Louis Notari and Rue Grimaldi

 

From 6.30am to 8pm:

  • Motorhomes will not be allowed anywhere in the Principality of Monaco.
  • Vehicle traffic will be banned in the Rocher Antoine I and Rocher Albert I tunnels, as well as on Boulevard Louis II and Avenue J.F. Kennedy from the Portier crossroads (in this direction).

VEHICLE PARKING

 

From 11pm on 19 July to 6am on 23 July, parking will be prohibited on the following roads:

  • Esplanade des Pêcheurs
  • Quai des États-Unis - between the restricted-access quay area and the junction with Route de la Piscine
  • Route de la Piscine
  • Darse Sud
  • Boulevard Albert I
  • Quai Antoine I, between the Rocher-Noghès tunnel and the Quai Antoine I car park, and opposite the Antoine I tunnel
  • Rue Princesse Charlotte, between the roundabout at Boulevard des Moulins and the junction with Avenue Saint-Michel
  • Avenue des Citronniers
  • Rue Princesse Florestine
  • Avenue Princesse Grace
  • Rue Grimaldi, between Boulevard Albert I and the junction with Rue Princesse Florestine
  • Rue des Iris
  • Ruelle Saint-Jean
  • Avenue J.F. Kennedy
  • Boulevard Louis II
  • Avenue de Monte-Carlo
  • Rue Louis Notari
  • Rue du Portier
  • Avenue de la Quarantaine
  • Avenue des Spélugues
  • Rue Suffren Reymond

 

And from 11pm on 20 July to midnight on 21 July, parking will also be prohibited on Rue Princesse Antoinette.

 

PUBLIC CAR PARKS

 

The following public car parks will be closed all day on 21 July:

  • Grimaldi Forum
  • Larvotto
  • Louis II
  • Portier
  • Pêcheurs
  • Digue
  • Quai Antoine I
  • Louis Chiron

 

MONACO ON CHARGING STATIONS

 

From 19 to 23 July, the electric vehicle charging points along the following routes will be closed:

  • Rue Grimaldi
  • Rue Louis Notari
  • Rue Florestine
  • Quai des États-Unis
  • Avenue de la Quarantaine
  • Avenue Princesse Grace

 

 

MONABIKE BIKE SHARING SERVICE

 

From the evening of 19 July to the morning of 22 July, the following self-service electric bicycle stations will be closed:

  • Musée National (Villa Sauber)
  • Grimaldi Forum
  • Larvotto
  • Rose des Vents
  • Darse Nord
  • Chemin des Pêcheurs car park
  • The Yacht Club
  • Citronniers
  • Parking du Casino
  • Église

 

PEDESTRIAN TRAFFIC

 

All the pedestrian entrances and almost all the pedestrian walkways will remain open on 21 July, even on either side of the circuit, except for Quai Albert I, which will be closed to pedestrians from 11pm on 19 July until midnight on 21 July.

 

Volunteers will be on hand to assist with crossings at various points along the route. A map of these crossing points can be found on the official website dedicated to practical information: https://letouramonaco.gouv.mc/impacts-sur-les-deplacements

 

CAM URBAN BUS TRAFFIC

 

On 21 July, Monaco Bus Company (CAM) route numbers: 1, 5, 6, X2, X3 and X4 will not be in service.

Please note: a special 'Tour de France 2024' line (an adapted version of line number 4) will run between Place des Moulins and Fontvieille from 6am to 9.20pm (every 10 minutes). For more information, visit https://letouramonaco.gouv.mc/venir-a-monaco.

 

ZOU INTERCITY BUS TRAFFIC

 

The Southern Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur lines 603, 604 and 605 will not be in service, while lines 600 and 80 will continue to run with special conditions and diversions which can be found at: https://letouramonaco.gouv.mc/impacts-sur-les-deplacements .

 

 

 

ACCESS TO PORT HERCULE

 

The port will remain open to marine traffic, but access to the boats will be restricted to pedestrians only, via dedicated walkways.
