The Principality's Digital Transition is Scrutinised by Experts

On Friday 15 November, at the Yacht Club of Monaco and under the Presidency of H.S.H. Prince Albert II, the Principality brought together its group of digital experts, which is known as the Monaco Digital Advisory Council (MDAC).  The meeting took place in the presence of Jean Castellini, Minister of Finance and Economy.

This committee of global experts from the public and private sectors in the field of digital technology was created in November 2018.  It is led by Frédéric Genta, Country Chief Digital Officer, and its main task is to advise Monaco on its strategic vision for digital technology and on the implementation of its actions.

"Digital transition is the greatest challenge for countries, companies and individuals.  The positioning of each entity and the ability to benefit from this revolution will determine the winners of the present and future economy," stated Frédéric Genta.

The eight renowned figures who are working alongside Frédéric Genta and sharing their expertise to give the #ExtendedMonaco programme legitimacy and ensure its full scope are:

  1. Nick JENNINGS:  Professor of Artificial Intelligence at IMPERIAL COLLEGE LONDON, who is internationally recognised as an expert in this field.
  2. Marc-André KAMEL:  Partner in and Director of BAIN & COMPANY.  He is head of the Distribution and Luxury division for Europe, the Middle East and Africa and is one of the leaders in the Transformation and Customer Strategy and Marketing divisions.
  3. Axelle LEMAIRE:  Former Secretary of State for Digital Technology in France, who is a partner in the consulting firm ROLAND BERGER.
  4. Hani MAHMASSANI:  Professor at NORTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, who is considered a world expert in the mobility sector.
  5. Niklas MYHR: Professor at Chapman University, who is considered the world's leading expert on social networks.
  6. Vivian BALAKRISHNAN :Singapore's Minister of Foreign Affairs, responsible for the Smart Nation.
  7. Zhang YA-QUIN : Former President of Baidu, a Chinese Internet company whose search engine is one of the three most visited sites in the world.
  8. Loïc PLANTEVIN :  A partner in Bain & Company, who heads the Healthcare division in Europe.  He is also a member of the Client Strategy & Marketing division.
