Stand dedicated to children’s rights at Christmas market
Activities to mark Universal Children’s Day 2018, celebrated on 20 and 22 November, are continuing at the Principality’s Christmas market.
At the initiative of the Department of Education, Youth and Sport, a stand dedicated to children’s rights has been set up at the market for the second year in a row.
Christmas decorations made by children from the Principality’s primary schools will be offered for sale at the stand between Friday 7 and Friday 21 December.
In a continuing show of solidarity, cakes, cookies and Monegasque fougasses made by students from the Vocational Education and Training Section at Monaco’s Vocational and Catering School, assisted by the Hotel Section, will also be sold.
Proceeds from these sales will be added to the funds already raised as part of Universal Children’s Day 2018, which have made it possible to donate €10,000 to the charity AMADE, chaired by Her Royal Highness Princess Caroline of Hanover, as well as 11 Monegasque partner charities working to protect children all over the world.
The stand dedicated to children’s rights is open every day from 11 am to 10 pm, and the public will be welcomed by staff and managers from the Prince Albert II Leisure Centre, Monegasque charities partnering this year’s Universal Children’s Day, and staff from the Principality’s schools who have signed up to take part in this solidarity event.
