On 8 September 2017, which marked the official return of students to the Sciences Po Paris Campus in Menton, Gilles Tonelli, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, and Frédéric Mion, President of Sciences Po, signed a new partnership agreement to raise students’ awareness of development challenges.

For the last three years, the Department of International Cooperation and the Middle East-Mediterranean Campus of Sciences Po Paris in Menton have been working together to raise students’ awareness of development issues and the fight against poverty throughout the world. Over this period, more than 900 young people have benefited from specific courses, taken part in competitions to create projects, and met renowned experts in the humanitarian and development fields.

Given the initiative’s success among students, and against the background of Sciences Po Paris’ desire to strengthen the civic component of its programme, the Prince’s Government has decided to maintain its commitment and sign a new agreement, accompanied by a grant of
EUR 200,000.

This contribution will enable the organisation of further activities to raise awareness of development issues and training in project management over the next three academic years. It will also make it possible to award a grant to two deserving students.

The Prince’s Government and Sciences Po welcome this new partnership, which is intended to develop civic engagement and solidarity among students destined to become the policymakers of tomorrow in their home countries.
