High school students from Year 13 (scientific series) at the François d'Assise-Nicolas Barré private school have just been named winners of the "Lumexplore Junior 2019" competition at a ceremony in La Ciotat, in the presence of Claudie Haigneré, Nicolas Hulot and Jean-Louis Etienne.

The prize was awarded for the high quality of a film made entirely by the students on the subject of the "Posidonia Oceanica Meadow."

This competition is held every year as part of the "Lumexplore" Scientific and Environmental Exploration Film Festival, which is presided over by celebrities who are renowned for their commitment to the environment, science, or for making documentaries or films on the subject of exploration.

The aim of this educational initiative, undertaken in partnership with IFREMER and the French Society of Explorers, is to encourage the talent of teenagers in the making of a short film, created as if by a scientific researcher or great explorer, on themes related to the environment, climate change and the evolution of fauna and flora in particular.
