Solar Resources - First Operation to Install Photovoltaic Panels
This morning, in the presence of H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince, the first photovoltaic panels were installed on a residential building in the Boulevard d'Italie. This operation was undertaken following the launch of the solar resources map by the Mission for Energy Transition in June 2017.
As part of the offer by SunE, the SMEG has equipped 20% of the total roof area, i.e. approximately 110 m² of solar panels.
Marie-Pierre Gramaglia, Minister of Public Works, the Environment and Urban Development, stated, "We should welcome the commitment of the owners and managing agents of this building, who, through this approach, are actively contributing to energy transition in our country. This is an initiative that I encourage you to follow, given the great potential of roofs in the Principality that are exposed to sunlight. "
To support the installation of solar panels, it should be recalled that, since 2014, the Prince's Government has offered a financial incentive with an electricity buyback rate of EUR 360 excluding taxes/Megawatt hour for flat roof systems that are not integral to the construction and EUR 530 excluding taxes/Megawatt hour for integrated systems. A 15-year subsidy is therefore guaranteed for the production of photovoltaic energy.
Several applications have already been acted upon, such as that by the Grimaldi Forum, where more than 2,400 m² of solar panels will be constructed.
As a reminder, the solar resources web site makes it possible to identify, for each roof, the sunshine potential, the usable surface for installing solar panels, and annual energy production. This tool enables owners, managing agents and private individuals to access data quickly to help them decide whether to install solar panels on the roof of their building.
