Sixth International Rose Competition: be part of the jury!

The Association of Friends of the Princess Grace Rose Garden, presided by Mr Yves Piaget, in partnership with the Department of Urban Amenities, is organising the 6th International Rose Competition this year.

The International Jury examined over 70 varieties of roses, based on a range of criteria such as the number of flowers, weeks of flowering, resistance to disease, fragrance, and the quality of the rose (colour, repeat blooms, abundance of flowers, etc.) and the plant (foliage, vigour, etc.).

This morning, the International Jury gathered in the Princess Grace Rose Garden to inspect the roses one last time, before deliberating and sharing a convivial moment with the members of the Association of Friends of the Princess Grace Rose Garden, the Department of Urban Amenities, and the competition entrants.

The winners of the 6th International Rose Competition were announced a little later in the day, at a prize ceremony held at the Monte-Carlo Bay Resort.

The rose CATHERINE FROT, by Marie-Françoise Dorieux (France), competing in the “Multiple Flower” category under the number 24, was named the winner of the 6th International Rose Competition, and awarded the prestigious PIAGET ROSE Trophy donated by the Manufacture Piaget.

The rose EUDORA, by French company NIRP International, competing in the “Hybrid Tea” category under the number 10, won the Coupe du Parfum, donated by Monaco City Hall.

One prize remains to be awarded: yours!

For the second successive year, members of the public are invited to take part in the Jury of the International Rose Competition by voting for their favourite rose on social media.

Voting will be open from 5 May to 15 June 2022. The rose that earns the most likes will be awarded the Public’s Prize on 21 June 2022.
