MONACOLLECTE returns to Port Hercule on 3 and 4 March
On Friday 3 and Saturday 4 March, from 10 am to 7 pm, the Port Hercule esplanade is hosting the second community village focused on waste collection and recycling: MONACOLLECTE.
This event, under the high patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco and with the backing of H.S.H. Princess Stéphanie of Monaco, is an opportunity to answer the questions on everyone’s minds: what’s the best way to sort my waste? Where can I dispose of hazardous waste? How can I consume better and prevent food waste?
Organised by the Monegasque Sanitation Company (SMA) in partnership with the Prince’s Government Department of Urban Amenities and Monaco City Hall, MONACOLLECTE will feature free events that will charm young and old alike, including exhibitions and information stands about waste collection, sorting, recycling and processing.
In addition to the usual waste sorting bins and bins for hazardous waste that will be set up at the port, charities taking part in the event will present their work and recover items that can be reused (clothing, toys, books, etc.).
The MONACOLLECTE community village was officially opened on Friday 3 March in the presence of H.S.H. Prince Albert II, Céline Caron-Dagioni, Minister of Public Works, the Environment and Urban Development, Georges Marsan, Mayor of Monaco, Thomas Battaglione, CEO of the Société Monégasque de l'Electricité et du Gaz (SMEG), and Thierry Francart, CEO of SMA.
