H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince Visits the 14th Monacology Event
Monacology, the Monegasque environmental awareness week (from 11 to 15 June), is celebrating its 14th year. The fair is taking place on the Quai Antoine 1er, which has been transformed into a real Eco Village. It was visited yesterday by H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince and Marie-Pierre Gramaglia, Minister of Public Works, the Environment and Urban Development.
As a reminder, this event, which takes place every year with the support of the Department of Education, Youth and Sport, is an opportunity for 1,500 or so pupils from the Principality and neighbouring towns to find out about the basics of ecology. They are taught the main principles of sustainable development and eco-action. Thirty-five workshops, held in various eco-chalets, offer fun, educational activities, covering a range of different topics, such as waste sorting, photovoltaic panels and energy transition. The aim is to come up with ideas for a "greener" future.
The Prince's Government is represented on several stands, namely the Mission for Energy Transition, the Department of the Environment and the Responsible Tourism section of Monaco Tourist and Convention Authority. The SMEG and SMA concessions are also present. The underlying theme of all the workshops is the National Pact on Energy Transition.
This topic can be found on our social networks and from this evening onwards on Monaco Info.
