EVER: H.E. the Minister of State Takes the Wheel of an Electric Vehicle
As a side-event of the 11th EVER event (Annual forum for ecological vehicles and renewable energies), H.E. Mr. Serge Telle symbolically took the wheel of an electric vehicle this morning, to travel to the Grimaldi Forum from the forecourt of the Ministry of State.
As part of a campaign to show that it is possible to cover the distance of Paris / Monaco in an electric vehicle, using the networks of recharging stations, the car in question left the Embassy of Monaco in Paris on 5 April, reaching the Principality three days later.
Mobility is one of the Government's priorities for action. The use of clean vehicles in the Principality has been encouraged since 1994, in particular by granting purchasing subsidies. The subsidies have been extended to include hybrid versions. In this regard, the State takes incentive schemes in neighbouring countries into account, especially in France, adopting a proactive policy and modifying these schemes to suit the needs of Monaco – a step that continues to favour electric technology.
