Department of Urban Amenities takes part in Côte d’Azur Garden Festival
The Côte d’Azur Garden Festival will be held from 9 May to 11 June.
The Department of Urban Amenities, however, decided to set up its creation, “The reflection of water in the infinite blue”, and invite the public to come and view it on the Casino Terraces (Fairmont side) from Saturday 3 April.
The 3rd Garden Festival is based around the theme of “Artists’ Gardens”.
Mr Timothée Roche, the designer at the design firm which came up with the project, defines it as follows:
The reflection of the infinite
Under the scorching Mediterranean sun, a space takes shape.
Vertical, indistinct silhouettes emerge in the landscape that we are uncovering.
Other shapes, this time geometric and angular, deliver an architectural reading of this place.
Colours, contours, materials, of all different kinds, make up this idyllic setting.
In this garden, ideas appear as clear and lucid as the water which surrounds the visitor and keeps the temperatures on this craggy coastline mild.
It’s then up to the imagination to project onto the reflections of a misty glass the harbinger of a journey towards infinity.
