New road resurfacing work

Monaco has a particularly well-maintained urban road network throughout the Principality thanks to regular resurfacing work carried out by the Department of Urban Amenities. The Department will carry out its end-of-year campaign from Monday 21 October to Friday 15 November 2024 in eight districts across the Principality.

To limit the impact on traffic due to necessary road closures, operations will:

  • take place at night only;
  • be concentrated on a single night, except for three districts, where other necessary work will be included in the campaign to enable synergies;
  • be secured via manual guided traffic schemes and signage (for user access to public and private car parks and shops), as well as in the lobbies of neighbouring buildings.

Details:

AVENUE VARAVILLA:

  • Night of 21 to 22 October > Manual guided traffic from 8 to 10 pm followed by closure of the road from 10 pm to 6 am.
  • Night of 23 to 24 October > Temporary traffic light from 8 pm to 6 am.
    • This operation requires two nights as it includes repairs to a roadway joint at the bridge, damaged during previous work.

BOULEVARD DU LARVOTTO:

  • Night of 22 to 23 October > Temporary traffic light from 8 to 10 pm followed by closure of the road from 10 pm to 6 am.
  • Car parks in the vicinity, included the Carmes car park, will remain accessible.

CHEMIN DE LA TURBIE:

  • Night of 23 to 24 October > Road closed from 8 pm to 6 am.
  • Parking prohibited from 4 pm onwards.
  • No access to car parks.

BOULEVARD RAINIER III:

  • Night of 24 to 25 October > Road closed from 8 pm to 6 am.
  • Parking prohibited from 4 pm onwards.
  • Access to the Agaves car park remains possible via Rue de la Turbie.
    • This operation will eliminate noise pollution reported by local residents.

AVENUE HECTOR OTTO:

  • Nights from 28 to 31 October and from 4 to 6 November > Road closed from 8 pm to 6 am.
  • Parking prohibited from 4 pm onwards.
  • No access to car parks.
    • This operation will take five nights as part of a complete renovation of the avenue. Residents who will not be able to access their car park will receive a temporary pass entitling them to one free parking spot at the Salines car park during this period. Passes are available at the Salines car park reception desk.

LOWER PART OF AVENUE PASTEUR:

  • Night of 6 to 7 November > Road closed from 8 pm to 6 am.
  • All car parks at the Princess Grace Hospital (staff, patient and visitor) remain accessible.
    • This operation will make the pedestrian access to and from the hospital’s public car park safer.

PALAIS HONORIA – BOULEVARDS DU JARDIN EXOTIQUE / DE BELGIQUE:

  • Night of 7 to 8 November > Road closed from 9 pm to 6 am.
  • Residents can still access one boulevard from the other via the upper part of Rue Bosio (a temporary traffic light will be installed for alternated traffic).

AVENUE DE FONTVIEILLE:

  • Nights from 12 to 15 November > Road closed from 8 pm to 6 am.
  • The Wurtemberg car park remains accessible.
    • This operation will take three nights because it includes the reprofiling of the road to adapt it to the new developments on Ilot Pasteur. Residents at Fontvieille Shopping Centre villas will be offered free parking at the centre’s car park.

Pedestrian pathways will be maintained and indicated. Intercity and Monegasque Bus Company (CAM) lines affected by the work will be diverted from 8 pm onwards, with passengers informed beforehand.

Police and emergency services will of course circulate in all areas in the event of an emergency.
