Monaco renews its partnership with the San Remo International Institute of Humanitarian Law
The Prince’s Government, keen to raise awareness and promote the application of international humanitarian law, has renewed its partnership with the San Remo International Institute of Humanitarian Law in Italy.
On Friday 7 June, Ms Isabelle Berro-Amadeï, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, and Lieutenant General Giorgio Battisti, President of the International Institute of Humanitarian Law, co-signed a funding agreement to extend for a further two years the Prince’s Government’s support for legal training programmes offered by the Institute.
Created in San Remo in 1970, the Institute is an internationally recognised centre of academic excellence working in close collaboration with the largest humanitarian non-governmental organisations.
The Prince’s Government has supported training programmes in international humanitarian law, human rights and refugee law, with an emphasis on including representatives from developing countries, since 2020.
