Foreign Policy: new ambassadors accredited from Malaysia, Austria, Honduras, and Guinea

On Thursday 3 April, Ms Marie-Catherine Caruso-Ravera, Director of Diplomatic and Consular Relations, hosted a luncheon at the Hôtel Hermitage for H.E. Mr Datuk Eldeen Husaini Bin Mohd Hashim, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Malaysia; H.E. Ms Barbara Kaudel-Jensen, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Austria; H.E. Mr Luis Alberto Posadas Alfaro, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Honduras and H.E. Mr Senkoun Sylla, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Guinea.

Throughout the morning, each ambassador presented their Letters of Credence to H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince.

H.E. Datuk Eldeen Husaini Bin Mohd Hashim gained a law degree from Sheffield Hallam University (UK) and a diploma in Public Administration from the National Institute of Public Administration in Malaysia. He began working as an editor at the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1998. His career has progressed steadily over the years, with appointments as Second Secretary at the Malaysian Embassy in Tokyo (Japan) in 2003, Minister Counsellor at the High Commission of Malaysia in Canberra (Australia) in 2010 and serving as Consul General of Malaysia in Mumbai (India) in 2014. He was appointed Malaysian Ambassador to Cambodia five years later and has served as the Malaysian Ambassador to France and Portugal since 2024.

H.E. Mrs Barbara Kaudel-Jensen obtained a degree in Political Science from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (Belgium), a Master's in European Affairs from the College of Europe, a Master's in Public Administration from the École Nationale d'Administration, before embarking on a career in the private sector. She joined the Austrian Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs in 2004. During her time there, she held various posts, mainly abroad, within the Permanent Representation of Austria to the European Union and the United Nations before her promotion to Deputy Head of Mission of the Austrian Mission to NATO in 2011. In 2017, she took up the post of Foreign and European Affairs Advisor to the Federal Chancellor at the Federal Chancellery, then from 2020, Director General for EU, International and General Affairs.

H.E. Mr Luis Alberto Posadas Alfaro earned a law degree from the National Autonomous University of Honduras (UNAH). He served as an advisor to the Proveeduría General of Honduras from 1984 to 1986 before specialising in legal advice on civil and commercial law, acting before the Honduran courts and handling legal affairs for national and international clients within his company Bufete Posadas y CIA. He was appointed Ambassador of Honduras to France in 2023.

H.E. Mr Senkoun Sylla's diplomatic career spans more than 25 years, during which time he has acquired expertise in diplomacy and international relations and has been conferred with the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays by the Emperor of Japan. He joined the Republic of Guinea's Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2000, holding several positions before being appointed to the Embassy of Guinea in Beijing (China), first as Political, Economic and Cultural Counsellor, then as Chargé d'Affaires. From 2013 to 2022, he served as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Guinea to Japan, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, the Philippines and South Korea.
