CORONAVIRUS : No new positive cases recorded in Monaco on Thursday, One death has sadly been announced

No new positive cases of COVID-19 were recorded on Thursday 23 April.

This means that the number of people infected by the coronavirus in the Principality remains 94. Eight additional recoveries were reported compared with yesterday, bringing the total number of patients who have so far recovered to 35.

Two people are in hospital, both in intensive care.

It should be noted that those tested and hospitalised are not all residents of the Principality.

In accordance with the principle that has been adopted by the Monegasque health authorities, only patients with severe COVID-19 symptoms are being hospitalised.

Those with minor symptoms are asked to self-isolate at home and will be subject to medical monitoring. As of today, 58 patients are being treated by the Home Patient Follow-Up Centre.

The Prince’s Government is sad to announce the death of a patient who was not a resident of the Principality. He was 79 years old.

This is the fourth coronavirus-related death since the start of the epidemic in the Principality.

The Prince’s Government would like to express its full support for the individual’s family and friends at this time of great sadness in Monaco.
