COVID-19: requirement to wear masks indoors lifted

In light of developments in the health situation, with the spread of the virus contained, the Sovereign Prince, at the recommendation of His Government, has decided to lift the requirement to wear masks indoors from Friday 13 May.

Specifically, it will no longer be mandatory for staff or visitors to wear masks in shops and other enclosed locations open to the public in the Principality.

Masks must still be worn, however, in healthcare facilities and care homes for the elderly, as well as on public transport and in taxis and chauffeur-driven cars, by all people aged 5 years or older.

In addition, the use of masks remains highly recommended in enclosed spaces for individuals at risk or during large gatherings.

The Prince’s Government may make changes to these health measures as the health situation evolves.
