Minister of the Interior Patrice Cellario, accompanied by Isabelle Bonnal, Director of Education, Youth and Sport, and the head teachers of the Principality’s lycées, yesterday hosted the 69 students who achieved highest honours in the Baccalaureate exams this year for a reception on the roof terrace at Monaco’s Vocational and Catering School.

The Minister was keen, on behalf of the Government, to congratulate the students on their brilliant success, and to hail the efforts of the Principality’s education community in preparing and supporting them.

Mr Cellario highlighted the priority accorded to education by the Prince’s Government and the determination to ensure that no student is left behind. It is worth emphasising that this year’s overall Baccalaureate pass rate in the main round of examinations was 97.3% for the general, technology and vocational courses, with 369 out of 450 candidates achieving honours, including 69 highest honours.
