On Monday 6 January 2020, in the presence of H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince, Mr. Serge Telle, Minister of State, and the Principality's most eminent dignitaries, Ms. Isabelle Bonnal, Director of Education, Youth and Sport, received the insignia of Knight of the National Order of the Legion of Honour.

These insignia were presented to her by Mr. Laurent Stefanini, Ambassador of France to the Principality, who emphasised that this high-level distinction is a reward for recognised outstanding achievements that are at the service of the common good.

In her speech, Ms. Isabelle Bonnal wished to highlight the special relations that exist between the two countries:

"I have no certainties.  But the humanist values that Monaco and France share […]  This evening, the French Republic has paid tribute to my beloved adopted country, to the Sovereign Prince and the actions that he has undertaken with ambition and rigor, as well as the Prince's Government, which I am honoured to serve."
