The Department of Employment is Expanding its e-Services and Simplifying Declaration Procedures for Employers in the Principality

The Monegasque Administration is engaged in an ambitious digital transition programme known as "Extended Monaco."  It wishes to speed up the development of e–Administration by increasing the number of procedures that users can carry out online.  The Administration is thus reforming its relations with employers, employees and job seekers in the Principality.

Backed by this commitment, the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs and the Department of Employment, in association with the Department of e-Government, decided to offer six new online services to Monegasque employers from mid-December 2019, to make their administrative procedures easier.  Other online services for job seekers are currently being developed.

This approach also offers a more efficient management tool for civil servants and Government officials who deal with requests from employers.

No more delays in replying and an end to the numerous letters sent to the Department of Employment's offices - the procedures are now easier!

This Department offers employers the opportunity to simplify their lives in just a few clicks.  Since mid-December 2019, it has introduced six new online services for Monegasque employers, enabling them to make the following requests online:

  • hire domestic staff;
  • second an employee to Monaco for a period of less than three months;
  • request an exemption to statutory public holidays;
  • request an exemption to statutory working hours;
  • request an exemption to the daily rest period granted to female employees;
  • request an exemption to night work for female employees.

Thanks to these online services, employers in the Principality will be able to carry out all these procedures online, with a single user account.  The aims are to:

  • make the procedures easier – there is no need to print, send or submit paper applications;
  • improve the visibility of the processing of applications through notifications and online tracking of applications;
  • reduce the time taken for officials to process applications;  
  • reduce paper use and travel.

A few figures:

For internship declarations, the online service is already proving very successful:

• It was created in November 2018, and more than 1,905 applications have been processed.

• 1,496 applications have been submitted directly online by employers.

• This represents almost 79% of fully dematerialised declarations.
