The Franco-Monegasque psychiatric day centre for children and adolescents received a visit from T.S.H. Prince Albert II and Princess Charlène, in the presence of Christophe Robino, Minister of Health and Social Affairs, Céline Caron-Dagioni, Minister of Public Works, the Environment and Urban Development, Gérard Spinelli, the Mayor of Beausoleil, Romain Alexandre,  Departmental Director of the Regional Health Agency for Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur (ARS PACA), and a delegation from the Lenval Foundation that included its President, Mr Jean-François Comas, and its Director General, Mr Ronan Dubois (*).

The 650 square-metre facility, located at 46 avenue du Professeur Langevin in the Commune of Beausoleil, was fully renovated to offer comprehensive outpatient care to children and adolescents, up to the age of 18, suffering from complex autism spectrum and personality disorders.

The royal couple had the opportunity to meet and speak with teams on site, who explained how the centre operates. The centre offers multidisciplinary care that allows specialists to adopt a different approach with patients and enrich their assessment.

The facility can accommodate 35 children and 17 spots are reserved for children who live or attend school in the Principality. Children and adolescents residing or attending school in the Principality with this type of disorder can be admitted to the new establishment exclusively by referral from a child psychiatrist at the Centre Plati in Monaco, a medical psychology service for children and teens under the direction of the Department of Health Affairs (DASA).

Christophe Robino recalled that “this outpatient centre is the result of close cooperation between the Prince’s Government and the Government of the French Republic, as well as the services of the Commune of Beausoleil and the Lenval Foundation. At the heart of this initiative is a commitment to the well-being and development of every child. It provides a safe, inclusive and therapeutic environment where every child can thrive with the help of experts and individually tailored programmes. The goal is to work alongside families to offer holistic and sustainable community support to children who need it”.
