Non-Smoking Beaches in Monaco

©DR

The Prince's Government has taken the decision to make beaches in the Principality non-smoking during the summer season from Saturday 26 June to Thursday 30 September 2021 inclusive.

In practical terms, from this year onwards, the Larvotto beach, which will soon be open to the public, as well as the solarium beach on the Quai Casiraghi, will be non-smoking.

This applies to both tobacco and electronic cigarettes. However, special areas, designated by signs, will be allocated for smokers. Smoking is still permitted on the terraces of restaurants and bars.

The beach known as "plage des pêcheurs", which is accessible via the Avenue de la Quarantaine, will be entirely non-smoking, due to its small size.

Through this action, the Principality aims to protect its population from the risks of passive smoking and ensure the balance of the natural area and its environment.
