The world's biggest circus invites the smallest circus to Monaco!
40thInternational Circus Festival of Monte-Carlo From the 14th to the 24th January 2016 Press Release n°5
At the request of the Organising Committee of the International Circus Festival of Monaco, presided over by H.S.H. Princess Stéphanie, the Piedon Circus, a French family circus, will set up its big top on the Quai Albert Ier from the 9thto the 16th of January, to kick off the festivities for the Festival!
The Piedon Circus is run by William, whose singing talents the audience will get to appreciate, and his wife Katia, née Loyal, one of the best known names in French circus, along with their children Anthony and Melody. This traditional show will feature rola-bola, equilibrists, magic, trained cats, silk and trapeze acts, without forgetting Mathieu the clown who was specially engaged for Monaco, and a former star of the Arlette Gruss circus.
Their show entitled "Passage Piedon" will take place on Saturday 9th, Monday 11th, Tuesday 12th, Thursday 14th and Friday 15th January at 5pm, Sunday 10th and Wednesday 13thJanuary at 4pm and Saturday 16th January at 10.30am and 5pm (the show lasts 1 hour 30 minutes).
Another big event of the 40th Festival will be the "Open Air Circus Show" on Saturday 16th January!
The big parade will leave the Fontvieille big top at 2.30pm (on the Avenue des Papalins side) heading for the Place du Palais (arrival time estimated at 3pm). Horses and elephants will lead the cortege in front of the Festival's musicians' float and the little trains carrying all the artistes who are taking part in the 40thFestival!
In the Place du Palais, the public will be treated to a unique show which will feature among others Annaliese and Bello Nock on the Big Wheel and swaying poles, and the big elephant buffet … as well as many other surprises! This will be a great circus moment that is not to be missed!
