Reading Marathon - Prince Pierre of Monaco Foundation
The Prince Pierre of Monaco Foundation recently launched its Reading Marathon, organised in conjunction with the Foundation’s Literary Prizes. The Reading Marathon gives fans of contemporary literature an opportunity to become better acquainted with the authors shortlisted by the Literary Council for the 2018 Literary Prize and Discovery Grant awards.
During its session on 15 May, the Literary Council selected the following writers for the Literary Prize, which recognises an author in the French language for the entirety of his or her work:
René de CECCATTY
Annie ERNAUX
Linda LÊ
Tobie NATHAN
Maurizio SERRA
The following were also shortlisted for the Discovery Grant, a prize which rewards an author in the French language for a debut work of fiction:
Adeline BALDACCHINO for Celui qui disait non (The Person Who Said No), Editions Fayard, Jan. 2018
Violaine HUISMAN for Fugitive parce que reine (A Fugitive Because a Queen), Editions Gallimard, Jan. 2018
Sébastien MINISTRU for Apprendre à lire (Learning to Read), Editions Grasset, Jan. 2018
Bruno PELLEGRINO for Là-bas, août est un mois d’automne (There, August Is an Autumn Month), Editions Zoé, Jan. 2018
Agnès RIVA for Géographie d’un adultère (Geography of an Affair), Editions L’arbalète/Gallimard, Jan. 2018
All of the books will be available in libraries participating in the Reading Marathon throughout Monaco and the Cote d’Azur between 20 June and 31 August 2018.
The Prince Pierre Foundation prize-winners will be announced on Thursday 4 October 2018 in the Salle Garnier.
