Responsible tourism in the spotlight at Tourist and Convention Authority event
The Tourist and Convention Authority held its traditional evening event at the Rainier III Auditorium yesterday for more than 350 tourism professionals in the Principality. During the event, which is part of the annual conference for the Authority’s representative offices abroad, Director of Tourism Guillaume Rose presented the organisation’s new brand identity: Visit Monaco.
Also showcased were the updated version of the visitmonaco.com website, redesigned to focus on images and experience and set to be published online very soon, and the new, already launched Facebook page entitled ‘My Monaco’, aimed exclusively at providing information on local events.
Guy Antognelli, Deputy Director of Tourism, then presented figures illustrating the excellent performance achieved by the Principality’s tourism sector during 2017.
This year’s annual conference focused on responsible tourism, which will be at the heart of all future activities. The strategy will be built around the slogan “Green Is the New Glam”, which will be used across all international tourism markets and media.
The evening also featured a presentation by Dirk Glaesser, Executive Director of the World Tourism Organization, who spoke about the tangible shift towards more sustainable and responsible tourism.
