Two major breakthroughs in cancer treatment at Princess Grace Hospital
Two major acquisitions at the Radiotherapy department of Princess Grace Hospital were inaugurated on Monday 3 February, attended by Ms Yvette Lambin-Berti, Secretary of State; Mr Christophe Robino, Minister of Health and Social Affairs; Ms Caroline Rougaignon-Vernin, Chair of the Princess Grace Hospital Board of Directors; Mr Robert Chanas, Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors; Ms Benoîte Rousseau de Sevelinges, Director of Princess Grace Hospital; Dr Cécile Ortholan, Head of the Radiotherapy department, and Lord Laidlaw, the hospital’s generous donor.
To mark World Cancer Day on 4 February, Princess Grace Hospital demonstrated its increased commitment to enhancing its cancer care offer thanks to these two innovative solutions:
- A surface radiation therapy system that increases the accuracy of exposure when treating patients.
- Equipment for the management of skin cancers that previously could not be treated due to medical restrictions for the patient.
This equipment is part of a care pathway at the Skin Tumor Center, designed to facilitate access to a dermatologist for cancer care.
