Monaco Bus Company: Signing of an Agreement between the Management and the Union
Today, Friday 21 December 2018, an agreement was signed at the Ministry of State by representatives of the Management and Trade Union of the Monaco Bus Company.
This text brings to an end a period of conflict that began on 23 July 2018 with a three-week strike by some of the CAM staff, followed, on the initiative of the union, by the implementation of a Joint Committee for the "settlement of collective disputes," chaired by a representative of the Administration and comprised of three representatives of the Management and three representatives of the Staff*, in accordance with the CAM's Collective Agreement.
"The role of the Administration in this process was to facilitate dialogue between the Management and the Union," explained Cyril Gomez, Director General of the Ministry of Public Works, the Environment and Urban Development, who chaired the Joint Committee; he added "this work, which is being concluded today with the signing of an agreement, has made it possible to find solutions that can bring the Management's proposals into line with some of the demands expressed by the CAM's staff."
Following seven meetings of the Joint Committee between 22 August and 20 November, the two sides agreed on a number of points, including bus drivers' schedules, the way in which weekends are organised and the deferred meal subsidy.
