Yesterday, the Minister of State visited the Rainier III Auditorium. During the health crisis, the Auditorium is playing host to the National Testing Centre, the National Vaccination Centre, the COVID-19 Call Centre, which receives all calls, the Epidemiological Surveillance Unit and the Home Patient Follow-Up Centre. The Minister of State was accompanied by Didier Gamerdinger, Minister of Health and Social Affairs, Christophe Orsini, Special Advisor to the Minister, and Alexandre Bordero, Director of Health Affairs.

Congratulations and sincere thanks were offered to all of the teams, as well as Julie Malherbe, Head of the Testing Centre, and Auriane Paganelli, Head of the Vaccination Centre, for their hard work and commitment during this crisis.

At a subsequent press briefing, the Minister of State highlighted several key figures: since 1 January 2021, 101,000 PCR tests have been carried out; 3,348 tests have proved positive; 28,875 people have received a first vaccine dose, 25,667 have received a second dose and 10,598 have received a booster dose.

The Minister also noted that the incidence rate recently rose above 800, a figure close to that for the PACA region. Given this worrying situation, he stressed the need to get vaccinated, get tested and comply with barrier measures to limit the spread of the virus during the festive season.
